Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yardsman to join our team, specializing in the handling, unloading, refilling, and movement of gas bottles. This role involves working with large and potentially very tall gas bottles, ensuring safe and efficient operations within the yard. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with manual handling, have attention to safety protocols, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unload empty gas bottles safely and efficiently from delivery vehicles.
  
• Move full gas bottles within the yard to designated storage or distribution areas.
  
• Assist with the refilling process of gas bottles as required.
  
• Ensure all gas bottles are handled in compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
  
• Inspect gas bottles for damage or defects and report any issues promptly.
  
• Maintain a clean and organized yard area.
  
• Operate basic yard equipment (trolleys, dollies, forklifts) as needed; training will be provided if necessary.
  
• Assist with inventory management by tracking bottle movements and stock levels.
  
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to minimize risks during handling and movement of heavy and tall gas bottles.
  
  Qualifications & Skills:
  
• Previous experience in yard operations, warehousing, or manual handling preferred.
  
• Comfortable handling heavy and large gas bottles safely.
  
• Good physical fitness and stamina.
  
• Basic understanding of health and safety practices in handling gas cylinders.
  
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
  
• Valid forklift license is an advantage but not essential.
  
  Physical Requirements:
  
• Ability to lift and move heavy gas bottles repeatedly throughout the shift.
  
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
  
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
